Bed & Breakfast JOSIPH

"Tesisin konumu zaten mükemmel. Berat Kalesi'nin zirvesinde, nostaljik bir köy evi. Şehri ve kaleyi yürüyerek dolaşmak için harika bir başlangıç noktası. Girişteki bahçe ve yukarıdaki teras, birbirinden güzel iki farklı yeme-içme mekânı. Ama hepsinin ötesinde, sadece Josiph ve Anna'yla tanışmak için burada kalmalısınız. Bu tatlı çifti, tüm Arnavutluk seyahatimin en kıymetli anısı olarak saklayacağım. Güler yüzleri ve misafirperverlikleri için ne söylesem az kalır. Dillerimizi bilmememize rağmen onlarla sohbet etmeye çalışmak, birbirimizden ufak tefek bir şeyler öğrenmek çok zevkliydi. Her şeyin üstüne, sabah ayrılırken arabamız çalışmadığında da yardım etmek için seferber oldular ve şehirden benzin getirterek yola devam etmemizi sağladılar. İlk defa gittiğiniz bir yerde ancak bu kadar evinizde gibi hissedebilirsiniz sanırım. Her şey için teşekkürler Josiph ve Anna, umarım bir gün tekrar karşılaşırız. (Benzin getiren beyefendiye de selamlar 🙂)"

"It was such a unique experience to stay within the castle walls in Berat. Josiph and Anna were so welcoming. I wish we could have had more robust conversations, but even with the language barrier we felt welcome and cared for. The room was very comfortable (with an amazing view…we struggled with the decision each night - curtains open or closed??) The bathroom was outside the room but large and fully equipped."

"It’s a little stressful driving in the castle streets…just stay calm! The sign for the B&B is small and blends in with the wall. Pay close attention when you get almost to the top and the street opens up and curves to the right. I suggest having a look at the satellite view in google maps to have an idea of the route in and click through to the street photos to see the parking area. It is a 1 km (steep) walk up from town which should be considered depending on how long you plan to stay and how much you like hills. By the 3rd night we were feeling a bit isolated from the action of town, especially the evening xhiro (promenade)."

"We loved staying at Josiph's. Josiph and Anna are so lovely, they made us feel welcome, looked after us and made the most lovely breakfasts. Despite the language barrier, we had easy communication when needed. They are wonderful hosts and our stay made for a more authentic experience."

"Lovely kind hosts - elderly couple who were soooooo sweet. Super breakfast and the location within the castle walls cannot be beaten for atmosphere. Also very helpful to have free access to their washing machine and lovely Mama hung it all up for us! ❤️"

"The experience to stay inside a castel of Berat at locals in a traditional housing was great. Walk around the castle at night was very nice, seeing the whole town from above also. The room has aircon, older furniture but that was part of the uniqness, everything was clean, shared bathroom. We could choose a breakfast menu. The hosts were really sweet, but could not speak much English. We got to try a Homemade rose liqueur. There are many restaurants inside the castle. Breakfast was served on a terrace."

"The drive inside and within the castle was an adventure. All uphill, narrow streets, people walking, slippery rocks. At the end there was no parking that we were told we will have. We could not communicate with the owner, we even tried AI, but could not explain to him, he should speak to a phone and AI will translate it. Finally I squeezed the car close to a wall and drove away early in the morning. The lack of English was really inconvenient."

"Joseph's is a beautiful accommodation to stay at. A wonderful breakfast was provided, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is amazing and right in the centre of Berat castle. It certainly is a wonderful experience."
