The owner is a remarkable person from whom we learned how important it is to enjoy life. "Amazing hospitality and kindness from the host lady. She gave us directions on how to get to the train station and even prepared sandwiches for our trip, since we had to check out before the official breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. "Halvat Guesthouse is a boutique hotel in an unbeatable location, right in the heart of Sarajevo. Just a two-minute walk from the old city square, with the option of reasonably priced, guarded parking nearby, and situated on the flat part of town (unlike many hilly areas of old Sarajevo), its position couldn't be better. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is decent, the rooms are air-conditioned, and everything is impeccably clean and tidy. But the true soul of this place is its warm and gracious hostess, Valida. She will make you feel genuinely welcome, and if you're staying for a few days, even a cheerful conversation with her will let you feel the true heart of this extraordinary city and its rich, tumultuous history. Unique and unmatched in my experience."

"Just outside Zvornik (about 4km) and close to a fairly industrial area but the guesthouse itself is surrounded by fields and hills and is quiet and calm Its a simple family-run business with welcoming smile and the host Vezra really wants to make your stay comfortable. Shared bathroom (we hadn't noticed that on booking) but it was not a problem for us (we were two travelling together with two rooms - and no one else was sharing the bathroom ). We slept well. Son Stefan helped us with translation and we managed to communicate in English OK. Good breakfast (great coffee) for Euro 3 only which was good value. If you want a break from bland business-type hotels come and spend the night here."
