Located in the city centre next to the small Suze canal and the pedestrianised shopping zone, the Mercure Biel hotel is easily reachable on foot from the main station. The rooms provide a private bathroom, a minibar and a hairdryer. The hotel offers free access to the sauna and fitness area on the top floor. All rooms are air-conditioned and have free WiFi. Enjoy seasonal cuisine and fine wines from all over the world in the Barrique restaurant. For a good whiskey or a cocktail visit the L'heure Bleue bar, open until 02:00 in the morning. Biel is situated approximately 90 minutes from the international airport of Zurich and Geneva. Bern is just a 30-minute drive away. All these airports are reachable by direct trains from Biel station, which is only a 10-minute walk away from the hotel. The 3 lakes region (Lake of Biel, Lake of Murten and Lake of Neuenburg) with its countless vineyards is popular for cruises, bike tours and hiking holidays. Electric bikes can be rented at reception on request.

"The hotel was 15 minutes walk from the train station in a quiet area. The room was a good size and quiet. The beds were comfortable and extra pillows were provided. The selection of food and drink at breakfast was very good. It was fairly close to the shopping area and bars and restaurants."
"The shower screen over the bath was only half a metre wide and it was difficult to shower without getting water on the floor. There were no shelves or drawers to put your clothes in."
