"That it was near to the port. And access was straightforward. Room was clean."
"While waiting for the ferry we used this older hotel with a French style. Clean, well-maintained hotel. Friendly owner, excellent breakfast. In the center of Cherbourg, near restaurants, shops, promenade in the port. A little problem with parking, but it takes patience."

"A friendly welcome by Eric. A lovely Chambre d'hote. The room was very comfortable, with a great breakfast. A communal fridge and access to tea and coffee was good. Lovely gardens to relax in. Eric's reccommendations for places to visit, and restaurants were excellent."
"This is exactly what I expect from a 4-star hotel in France. Top location, excellent host, outstanding service (they even booked us a fantastic restaurant overnight), and great advice on a snorkeling spot, the best we had on the island. Everyone on the property was genuinely helpful, from the room maid I passed on the stairs (whom even asked if I needed a hand with my luggage, a first for me!) to the host."

"Location very good for the beach (5 mins) and for walking in the hills. Bus stop outside La Bastide to a station for the train to Toulon. A quiet site with a pool and our studio had a view over rooftops to the wooded hills. The person caring for the site was very helpful with advice etc. Kitchenette is small but well equipped for two people and everything was very clean. Don't expect to cook grand meals but restaurants within easy walking distance. Local Proxi supermarket is well stocked and very welcoming even offering bread when bakery was shut on Mondays."

"The location was amazing! Right in the centre of all the wonderful shops and restaurants. Looking out of our window we could see the lovely buildings. It was really easy to find with a friendly welcome from the reception staff. The room was ideal to get our heads down and we had a comfy bed, clean bedding and a clean bathroom. Nice to have USB charging and a TV in the room. Breakfast was great - lots of choice and yummy pastries. Well worth the money! Other people have complained about noise from outside but I didn’t notice it and if I did hear people out and about it was just nice to be in the centre of the action."
