"A beautiful small hotel, appears to have been recently renovated to a very high standard, beautifully maintained. Large rooms, high quality throughout including the basics such as beds, pillows, showers. Didn’t go into the pool but it looked clean, well maintained and tempting. Extremely friendly owners. Breakfast was excellent. We will definitely return."

"The mansion has been renovated with impeccable taste. Our room was expansive, as was the bathroom. Be aware that there are quite a few stairs to access some of the rooms. The breakfast was delightful, featuring homemade yogurt and fresh fruit, among other things. The garden is stunning, though sadly, the weather precluded the use of the pool. We also valued the proximity to Saumur without being in the city center. Our host provided outstanding restaurant recommendations. We will definitely return!"

"Such a beautiful house and grounds. Owners were very friendly and helpful - booking restaurants locally for us before we arrived. We hired bikes and cycled to a number of nearby wineries then had a dip in the pool before cycling for dinner. Breakfast is delicious"

"Really great place to stay to break up a long journey to the South of France from the UK. We stayed in a family suite for 2 nights which had plenty of space for a family of 4. The owners are really friendly and the house is beautiful. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and breakfast."

"Beautiful property in a convenient location. Slightly out of town to enjoy peaceful surroundings while close enough to easily explore Saumur. Stunning decor and super clean rooms. Loved everything about it. Communication from the owner was good too and they helped us hire bikes to explore the local vineyards. Would definitely stay again if in the area"

"The place itself was marvellous, giving a bit of the taste of ' Vivre comme un dieu en France'. As soon as you arrive, the whole surrounding and establishment have the good vibe and confirmed so. Excellent service, modern pool we could use with the weather we had. Tranquillity was the main word here."

"La Seignère is an immaculately renovated Maison d'Hôte, located less than 10 minutes outside Saumur on the south bank of the Loire, making it a perfect base for sightseeing in the Loire valley. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, offering lots of recommendations on places to eat and to visit, and also suggestions on the best local wine tasting experiences. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious every day - a lovely relaxing experience that set us up perfectly for each day ahead. We booked the Suite with Garden View which is on the top floor and consists of a huge bedroom with a couple of chairs, plus an equally vast bathroom equipped with a roll-top bath and a separate walk-in shower. Sadly the weather prevented us from enjoying the pool which we had hoped would be one of the highlights"

"The spiral wooden stairs to the top floor were a challenge with large cases. We'd recommend planning ahead and taking hand luggage only"
