"The staff were really friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant and food at dinner were excellent. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want. The location is perfect for an overnight stop, being on the road and just outside Lyon. We would definitely return."

"Just for reference the hotel is an older style property as the name suggests, including some steep stone steps up to the bedroom, which was quite small and a bit dated but reasonably comfortable. Double windows means you can't hear the traffic outside, although the close proximity of other rooms means you definitely hear fellow guests coming and going!"

"We liked the area, and it was well situated for a break on our journey south. There are some interesting bars and shops in the town and we had a very nice afternoon walk after we arrived. The food in the restaurant was great, we had a lovely stay. The staff were very helpful"

"A real gem! Charlotte was great & couldn’t do enough for us-the room was comfortable and as for the reasonably priced food: excellent with a good choice and wine menu. Highly recommend!"

"Nicely themed hotel that suited us for a stop over whilst travelling back to UK. Rooms are simple but suited our needs. The best thing about the hotel was the food. Top quality menu of 3 courses for €32. Every course was delicious."

"Very comfortable, clean and thoughtfully decorated rooms with a keen sense of humour (in a positive way!), excellent breakfast and dinner in an ideal location for us travelling south. The owner and her staff could not do too much - wonderful hosts in every way; in particular in our case they really went above and beyond this helping us to resolve our tyre blow-out which had occurred on our way there - we cannot thank them enough."

"We stayed here as an overnight stop travelling back North. The hotel was easy to find. It has a small carpark. The staff were very friendly, and made checking in very easy. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. The room was comfortable and we slept really well (really large comfortable bed). I can't comment on breakfast as we had an early start. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes. Would we stay here again.. definitely."
