"My stay at Plitvice Ethno House was extremely disappointing. First, when I arrived, the receptionist insisted that they only accept cash payments, even though their Booking.com page clearly says they accept credit cards. I had no cash with me at all, because I trusted the information provided online. This caused me huge stress and wasted time trying to solve a problem that should not exist in 2025. On top of that, I was charged an extra €10 fee for being late to check-in, even though I had informed the hotel in advance about my delay. This is unacceptable and feels like taking advantage of guests. The combination of misleading payment policies, poor communication, and unfair extra charges made my experience at this hotel extremely frustrating. If they only accept cash, they must be honest and state it clearly. Instead, I was left stranded and unfairly charged. I strongly warn future guests: expect cash only and be ready for unfair extra fees. Definitely not the professional service you would expect near a world-famous national park."

"Next to busy road. Only cash payment, which for me is quite incomprehensible. We were only allowed one key card per room. No pool towels supplied, although we were allowed to bring one of our room towels because of the kids. Cold pool. Early breakfast. Hostess seemed a little strict. Information about our tickets for plitvice were incorrect (the time slots are strict)."

"The room was quite basic but had everything we needed. A nice relaxation area with a pool, sunbeds, and chairs - much appreciated after a long, hot walk around the lakes! Staff were lovely and gave us some good advice on booking tickets for the lakes. There was an excellent bistro across the road - recommend you book a table if you'd prefer to sit inside (it can be a bit chilly outside in the evening)."

"We didn't know it was cash only until a couple of days before we were due to arrive and so had to get cash out whilst abroad, which was very expensive - I should probably have read the details more closely, but more advanced notice would have been nice. Breakfast was advertised as 12 euros each per day, but had increased to 15 - I'm not sure we really got our money's worth, although there was a good selection."

"This is a spotless, comfortable, very efficiently run place to stay within 5 mins drive of entrance 2 of the Plitvice Lakes. It’s a great base for a day exploring this fascinating natural environment. We were sad we weren’t staying an extra night to be able to go back to use the small pool after a long day walking around the park. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with options to suit everybody. They make all the baked goods on site. Well worth the extra cost. And a range of restaurants are within a short walk for dinner out."
