"This hostel has good proximity to the airport. English was limited and on arrival they kept demanding cash while I was trying to verify the price. The family turned out to be OK, just lacking in sophistication. The facilities are ultra basic. There was a fan for my dormitory but the air conditioner was in the corridor.There are rough wooden bunks without curtains, no pillow cases and an odd sheet that I used to make a curtain. The one combined male bathroom toilet was occupied 50% of the time as it was used by guests and male members of the family. When I was there, the Hostel was only half full so you can imagine what it would be like at full occupancy. The neighbourhood looked very dubious. Lots of decaying multi-storySoviet era walk-up tenements ."

"I love the way they treat us like a family specially the owners who have been very helpfil and also to Sulphia for treating us like a sister. Clean, comfortable, peaceful and homey ambiance. Very affordable compare to others and accessible to market and airport. transportations are very easy. If we will be given a chance to comeback, we will always choose to stay in Hostel Del Luna . But I hope there is already family room where my family can stay together and have our privacy. I suggest also to have BBQ corner and small Bonfire to keep the guests warm when staying outside and have coffee or tea. Overall, Hostel Del Luna is a perfect place to stay in kazakhstan.If you will visit Kazakhstan choose HOSTEL DEL LUNA... Thank you to Boss and Madam for letting us to stay for more than 10 DAYS. "The owner Alibeik, his wife and zulfiya(lady managing the hostel) are all very hospitable. Zulfiya would as you tea everytime you come from outside. Location from the airport is very convenient"

"We chose the location because of the proximity to the airport, so it met our expectations in that way. Bed was ready and was comfortable and pretty quiet considering its proximity to a pretty busy street. Lots of storage space for luggage. I only had a backpack so I can't speak to storage space for larger suitcases."

"The experience was just a bit strange. We arrived at our indicated time but the owner was not around to check us in or collect payment. Luckily one of the guests staying there spoke the language and was able to contact the owner and show us our rooms. We were told the owner would be around in 30 minutes but we were free to leave and find some food and he would be around when we came back in an hour. Arrived back and he still wasn't around, so we just left the money on the table with someone (I think another guest? i'm not sure to be honest) because we had a really early flight to catch and wanted to go to bed. There is also no common area, and the kitchen area is right at the entry way, so it felt a bit cramped and didn't seem to have room to accommodate the number of people as they had beds. I would hate to see what a busy night looks like there if all beds are occupied. In the female dorm, a door that closes between the entry hall/TV area and the sleeping area would be a good addition. One of the guests was watching TV until midnight, and while she did have the volume low it was still a bit distracting when you're trying to sleep. She also answered a call pretty loudly, but that's not really a reflection of the hostel itself. A door would have made these non-issues. Last thing, when I woke up at 3:30am to get ready to leave there was a women sleeping on the couch in the main area. I'm not sure why she wasn't sleeping in a bed, but my friend who was staying in the male dorm mentioned that the owner was also sleeping there. I can only assume this was the owners wife sleeping on the couch. All around, okay place for a short layover when you just need a place to crash for the night but wouldn't recommend for any long-term stay beyond maybe 1-2 nights."

"Заехала рано утром, хорошо встретили, проводили до моей комнаты. Очень порадовало месторасположение,: близко от аэропорта, тихое место, недалеко дорога, но ее почти не слышно. Комната достаточно просторная, очень все чисто и уютно. Большой шкаф для вещей. Есть место для отдыха, чтобы не находиться в спальной части, например постоянно. Утром предложили выпить чаю с конфетами, гостериимство на высшем уровне, очень хороший опыт для меня в Алматы. Спасибо за гостеприимство."

"Приехал с Шымкента, нашел ближайший хостел рядом с аэропортом, соотношение цены и качество, или даже лучше. Ночью никаких маленьких гостей как клопы не встречал, это главный плюс. Комната не прокуренная, без запаха. Этот хостел недооцененный."
