"Zara Village exceeded our expectations! The staff were extremely friendly and the restaurant was amazing. The location is perfect if you want to access Lokobe, they even organised our guide. Our favourite was having cocktails by the infinity pool. This was definitely a highlight of our trip."

"Our booking was made very late and despite this we were so warmly welcomed. There was beautiful Cape Verdean music being played when we arrived by two incredible musicians which was lovely. And the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The fresh mango juice was particularly mouthwatering!"

The staff were friendly and helpful from the very first moment, always available without ever being intrusive. My room was bright, spacious, and very quiet — perfect for relaxing after a busy day. "We celebrated a birthday here and the owner and staff were absolutely lovely, joining in making the evening a memorable one. Rooms were comfortable, clean and the showers were great. Food was delicious. It is a peaceful place which felt like a little gem off the beaten track."

"The bungalow was very cozy! Started every morning with ordered breakfast to the room😊 Beautiful outside seating area, private balcony is always a great treat! Shower delivered temperatures after desire both cold/hot. The staff in the kitchen cooked us meals on order and delivered to the room, for such a low price also wow! Overall we had a peaceful wonderful stay here for 4 lovely nights🙏"

"Well, totally different experience from Riga! This place is AWESOME as the staff. The lady who hosted us did a great and PERFECT job. We place is very well located, alogside the road, close to supermarkets and the castle ruins. The city centre can be acessed by a footpath uphill from the hotel on a pleasant walk. Bedrooms alright, very clean and organized with no problems at all. We liked so much, that we spent more time that we intended on the next city in a Wine Festival in Sabile that we decided to go back and stay one more night and with only 10 Euros more, they gave us an apartment with living room and kitchen. I wuosl easily go back and refer here. One of the best places on the trip! The city is not big and have not that much to visit but satying here, made everything much better and pleasant! And parking is right besides the hotel as well with plenty space and easy to use and access!"

The family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to organize all my trips both around town and further afield. They are very knowledgeable and always happy to help with anything. It also meant a lot to know that the funds from the guest house support a school for the local community. "Hat eine super Poolanlage mit Schattenplätzen zum sitzen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und das Essen schmeckt gut. Die Zimmer sind gross, haben eine Klimaanlage und einen Deckenventilator. Das Gran Calao ist sehr kinderfreundlich."
